Come see what’s happening in Costa Calida this season.

With local festivities, traditional holidays and the New Year on the horizon, there’s never been a more magical time to visit Costa Calida. You’ll be greeted by friendly faces, the warmth of the Mediterranean, and a few other surprises when you make your trek to the coast. Let’s take a look at what’s happening in Costa Calida in the days and weeks ahead.

TRAVEL

As of now, Jet2 is the only airline confirmed to be switching flights from San Javier to Corvera after 15th January 2019. Therefore, if you want to travel from the UK to Spain, you might want to consider the train. There are two train stations close to the “Polaris Resorts” – one in Torre Pacheco, the other in Balsicas – for your convenience.

It’s easy to travel from the UK to Spain by train. You can breakfast in London, lunch in Paris and have dinner in Barcelona. After an overnight stay, you have the choice of a number of trains to both of the local stations starting from midday. For more information and valuable tips about taking the train, visit The Man in Seat Sixty-One. If you want to buy tickets, the easiest way is to buy online at LOCO2. Taking the train lets you see what’s happening in Costa Calida, up close and personal.

If this is too ambitious, why not use the train to visit Cartagena or Murcia City, or go further afield and visit Madrid, Valencia or Barcelona. Travelling within Spain, you can either buy tickets at the station or use the official online site.

IMSERSO

What is Imserso? Well if you are in receipt of a state pension and living in Spain, then you are entitled to take part in the Imserso subsidised holiday programme. The registration and booking season is now open. If you would like to find out more about availability, visit a local travel agent here in Murcia who will deal with the reservations. This scheme offers stays in 3- and 4-star hotels between October and June throughout Spain. If you are eligible, it’s an opportunity that’s just too good to miss, and it gives you plenty of opportunity to learn about what’s happening in Costa Calida during the holidays.

MUSIC

If you are here in November, then why not visit the 38th Cartagena Jazz Festival, which takes place from the 2nd November to 24th November. It consists of six concerts featuring artists such as Madeleine Peyroux, Michel Legrand, Lisa Simone, daughter of the late-great Nina Simone, Stanley Clarke and Billy Cobham. There are also a number of free concerts taking place. For full details go to https://jazz.cartagena.es.
